Pomeranians
The Pomeranian is the smallest member of the SPITZ family, which includes many types, some of the more familiar types being the 'Keeshond" and the 'Samoyed'. The Pomeranian belongs to the 'TOY' group, and has a small fox-like head and dark eyes. The Pomeranians of Queen Victoria's time were much larger than present-day Poms, and weighed in at around 10-14 Kgs. Whereas today's Pomeranians are diminutive in size and weigh under 2.5kgs. They adapt well to living indoors, as they are very intelligent and easily trained. They possess a profuse coat so regular, thorough grooming is essential.
